Dulcet Road – Heartland Rock

Webpage: www.dulcetroad.com
Location: Chicago, IL, USA
Description: Dulcet Road’s brand of heartland rock combines the sound of Americana with nods to classic rock that give these Chicago rockers their own sound. Strident vocals, pounding rhythms and searing guitars with tales of Mid-America are the band’s hallmark.
Biography: With a modest nod to contemporary artists Wilco and Son Volt to old time favorites Tom Petty and the Rolling Stones, Chicago-based Dulcet Road is the brainchild of singer/songwriter/guitarist Art Croyle. These rootsy rockers perform music that harkens back to simpler times, when bands didn’t need gimmicks to gain acceptance and popularity, instead relying on great songwriting and musicianship to reach an audience. Dulcet Road relies on the tried and true heartland sound of twangy guitars by Croyle and Dan Landerman, the unmistakable wail of Hammonds, Wurlys, Moogs and Leslies supplied by Dan Patten, rock solid bass lines provided by Andy Seagren, and the 4 on the floor grooves and vocal harmonies of drummer Bryon Landerman. Croyle’s heart on a sleeve lyrics evoke real world images of everything from corporate America takeover, all night college parties, to the small town eccentric. The guys of Dulcet Road remind us that there are a lot of things worse than another day in Wichita. Be sure to check them out at a real music venue near you.
