Getting To Know Davinci

We got the pleasure to interview up and coming artist Davinci, out of Washington Heights NY.

1. What is your artist name or what name do you go by?

I go by Davinci.

2. What city do you represent?

I represent New York City specifically Washington heights.

3. What got you started on your craft?

I was raised in a household where music was always integrated in me, my father used to sing, my grandfather, my uncle, my grandma. Even my step dad had mentioned to me of his dreams of singing when he was younger and so eventually I started performing on off Broadway musicals and I realized my passions didn’t just extend to singing, it was music and performing all around. Based on the people I met doing those musicals though I found myself in other areas of creative arts such as playing the piano and poetry which led me to wanting to also create music and create impact with my lyrics whether that impact is just a smile on someone’s face.

4. Any goals you want to achieve this year?

Well this year I’m releasing my first single and with that what I will achieve is making that song a hit, something that in the summer people can get sturdy to.

5. Anyone you would like to work with?

Although the song I’m working on is a dancehall song, an artist I would love to work with is giveon do to his amazing runs and overall vocals and Bruno mars who I actually always wanted to be like growing up.

6. Any up and coming artist you look up to or would like to shout out?

I would like to shout out Danilo Concepcion, because although this was always a dream of mine I do have to say that working with him has made it feel more real.

7. What is the most recent project you’re working on?

Currently I’m working on a pop type song with other members of heights finest in which I feel like it’s going to be a hit.

8. Any big news you would like to share?

My first single is dropping in the next month stay tuned.

9. What struggles do you go through as an up and coming artist?

It’s hard to create the exposure for yourself when people aren’t already looking your way.

10. How do you overcome these struggles?

The fear itself well I overcome this by knowing and truly believing that my time is going to come whether it’s now or later hard work always pays off. Believing in yourself and manifesting your reality is one of the most important things you can do as an artist. Logistically speaking it’s all about marketing. Sell yourself as a product and be sure to use all your tools, charisma, looks, talent and intelligence go a long way.
