Giulia escapes to New York… And outer space!
Sometimes, the holiday season can be a bit much and all you want is to escape it. Italian enigma Giulia is doing just that with her recent visit to New York to write some new material!
This exciting news comes in advance of new music releases for next year, and hot on the heels of ‘Trippin’, her sultry alt-pop release which has become an after-party staple this year. The video also includes an element of escapism – taking place, as it does, in outer space.
A risky choice for someone of this genre to totally break out from the normal nightclub setting and quite literally take off into the stratosphere, but it’s a risk that pays off. Giulia commands both the camera and her spaceship with a confidence and ease which is refreshing to see. The song builds with precision to the trance-esque chorus, in which her vocals become ethereal and falsetto with a breathy delivery. This suits the song perfectly, a tune which has a solid enough beat to be at home on the dancefloor, yet chilled-out enough for the after-party as well.
What’s more – this ethereal dance hit is but the first in a video trilogy, an innovative idea from this enigmatic popstar. Marketed as the first part of a triptych, Giulia promises to deliver more bangers to come in 2020. Perhaps a few inspired by the Big Apple? Or, who knows, maybe there is more inspiration to come from the stars as well…?
