Interview with Water Tower

What was a childhood dream of yours?

My dream was to play music with my friends. I always got the most pleasure out of being with the family, and playing music with my friends. I used to look in the mirror and pretend I was Tom Delonge.

Who do you turn to when you need someone most?

The Owls, aka the Tower Ladies and the Dudes of the Tower. That is our community and these people take care of me everyday. The needs I have in life are met entirely by the self-sustaining community of Owls around the world.

What was the first song you remember playing on repeat that made you want to get into music?

When I was four years old (1991) I crawled into my older brother’s room.  He was at his desk doing homework, so I just looked into his blue plastic waste-basket and found a tape at the bottom of it. I brought the tape into my room and put it on. I played it until I wore it out. This was my first experience with pop music and being obsessed with it.  The tape was Paula Abdul.

Tell us a story that you laugh about with your friends to this day?

We laugh all day actually, but recently we like to tell the story of how our buddy Juice used to live under my house in the “Mole-Pit”.  This is a crawlspace, with no floor and the ceiling is the floor of my room.  Nails sticking out, animals living underneath, spiders everywhere.  At one point a skunk walked by his head. The next morning he was particularly spooked and so we ended up building a tiny house in the backyard for him. This is dedication to the Hollywood dream. The funniest moment to look back on is when my Ex GF and I were in bed one time, she heard something loud. She asked what it was, I told her Juice lives underneath us. She was freaked out to say the least…

What is your favorite part of the music industry?

The adventure and the new friends.  Everyday the friendship circle grows larger.  I really enjoy connecting with people.

What’s your least?

The rampant accepted excessive use of drugs and alcohol.

What is a project you’re working on right now?

We are working on this amazing new country/hair metal crossover artist named Tyler Heath. We have been helping him with his new album “Tales of A Tenacious Tenderfoot” and it is really exciting.
