Recently Josie Passantino, had the opportunity to be heard on radio. The newest country music Singer/Songwriter & Radio Host, was featured on live radio to introduce her debut single, “Teenage Girl”. Her ‘live’ radio interview left her in good standing and in great spirits to learn she had received a ‘thumbs up’! From the listening audience. The interviewer only had good things to say about this young and promising rising star.
Josie a native of Illinois, has been singing through the course of her life. At 6 years old she sang in a chorus, as she felt a love for music. As the years went by & as she grew, so continued her interest & passion for music dabbling with her creative side. In doing so she would stumble into her destiny when she met award winning songwriter Milliea McKinney, who would become instrumental in Josie’s pursuit in landing on her feet as a published and very well taught new songwriter, and growing singing artist in country music.
At 14 she began hosting her own Internet radio show. Since, then she has been nominated for a number of awards including nominations for best internet entertainment radio show. Currently, Josie hosts two programs: “The Josie Show” (www.JosieShow.com) & ”Josie’s Hard Country”, which is a part of “The Southern Star Network” (www.TheSouthernStar.org).
Over time the success of both her shows has grown and can be heard from all around the world Josie, interviews artists across a variety of genres of music.
Sweet & humble, she’s like a breath of fresh air. Josie, told us how much gratitude she has for all of the people she’s came across in her life who’have believed in her enough to step up and help her out. Amongst a few of those people she mentioned were:(singer/songwriter) “Milliea McKinney”, who she co-wrote several songs with including her single Teenage Girl; “Marsha Brown” of JANDAR Records, a label which Josie operates under; and her manager and mother who Josie, refers to as her ‘Momager’ Tina Passantino.
Musically Josie’s, (based upon her single “Teenage Girl”) style would fall within the confines of “New Country”. Her voice is pure, rich, and has very nice clarity. Some of her influences, include artists like Miranda Lambert, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and several others which are all consistent with the style of music she writes & sings. The quality of musicians
backing her are also excellent. Personally hand picked from songwriter McKinney, who wrote the musical composition filled with lots of violin/fiddle, electric guitar, bass, and drums, and that old ‘Nashville’ sound that McKinney has been apart of for years writing for the legends that paved the foundation of country music.
A few of Josie’s future endeavors will involve proceeding to reach out and help other artists & individuals within music. The upcoming release of her first full album, which is titled: “Life & Love Are Tricky”. Continuing to perform live & traveling. Josie will be hosting an award show for Indie Artists via “The Southern Star Network”, and is also scheduled to perform, singing with artist “Michelle Leigh”, & performing her new hit single Teenage Girl.
Josie has a great passion for keeping music in schools as well. She expressed to us how it was during that time in her life that music opened up a new and wonderful world to her. Currently the CME expansion will launch their new company Conscious Entertainment radio, whose mission is in the format of a conscious radio chat talk show featuring compelling guest that come from all walks of life that have experience in music education, music law, and is hosted by Mike Mosley, of proflow radio, who has many social awareness missions under his hat including getting kids back into school, conscious hip hop, and the support of many music educational causes.
Josie’s latest venture will be creating and co-hosting her new show to be announced with Mike, in the weeks ahead but is schedule to be a host in the launching of Conscious Entertainment radio, scheduled for August 30th.
The show will be streamed through facebook and is expected to have amazing guest on the show including Devyn Rush, the singing waitress, from American Idol, Icon News Lew Marklin Mash, who will also, be a co-host, The new rising sensations Hangin’ with Stogie, and many more guest to be announced. Also serving as a co-host will be the amazing web show teen from Teen Groove On The Move, Lenore Luca. Lenore known for her phenomenal show.
