Singer Songwriter Amy Goloby to Release Indie Folk Pop Song

Amy has performed on local television in Dallas and opened for notable folk artists such as Bob Livingston and Tony Ramey. Her new single “Winter’s Sleep” is different from her typical acoustic folk sound. The dreamy orchestrated folk-pop song tells of someone waking up in a new world of splendor and wonder.

Lyrics like, “Your eyes glow like fireflies, illuminating all that’s good and right” and “I take a step towards your silhouette, your hands reaching out, guiding me back to light” evoke emotions of a ghostly, idyllic world.

“When I wrote this song,” Amy says, “I kept imagining someone waking up out of a long coma and coming back to reality, but as the song progressed, I felt it was someone waking up in heaven.” Amy is known for including her spirituality in her songs, and this one is no different. If you listen closely to the lyrics, you can speculate where she gets her inspiration from.

Amy used a producer out of Nashville- Wilson Harwood of Elevated Music. Her inspirations were indie pop artists such as Jose Gonzales, Wave and Rome, and First Aid Kit. “We created a full orchestra,” Amy says, “using entirely electronic equipment,” but there is still a sense of her acoustic roots with a tinge of strings and guitar within the instrumentation.

Amy will be releasing this song on Feb 4, 2022 on all digital platforms, including her website: amygoloby.com.
