THE LOOKOUT KIDS SET TO RELEASE DEBUT EP SNITCHES GET STITCHES
The Los Angeles based Hard Rock band The LookOut Kids featuring Travis T. Warren and drummer Sarah Scarlata announces the release of their debut EP titled Snitches Get Stitches.
In 2002, Travis and Sarah were founding members of the San Luis Obispo, California based Alternative Rock band Rain Fur Rent. Their relocation to Los Angeles was sparked by obtaining manager Owen Husney, Prince’s first manager and credited for Prince’s start in the music business. After Rain Fur Rent disbanded in 2006, Travis later went on to be the replacement front man for the newly reformed Blind Melon whose hits include No Rain and Galaxie. Their first release since the death of former front man Shannon Hoon titled For My Friends was released in 2008 and featured songs written by Travis Warren. He received 3rd place honors in the Best Replacement Singer category for Rolling Stone magazine’s readers’ poll in 2009. Sarah Scarlata went on to compose music featured in TV and Film productions including Tower Heist, 30 Rock and the CBS College Sports network.
Travis and Sarah joined forces once again to form The LookOut Kids in March of 2011. The combination of baritone guitar, drums and prominent harmonized vocals sounds much larger than the sum of its parts.
“The simplicity of the instrumentation allows us to take more chances musically. There’s more room for experimentation without stepping on anyone else,” said Sarah Scarlata.
“The LookOut Kids shows a heavier side to my playing and explores edgy subject matter in the songs. There’s a lot wrong in the world, especially in American politics, and we take that head on,” said Travis Warren.
Snitches Get Stitches featuring 6 new songs will be available on ITunes, Amazon and Spotify on August 14, 2012.
